Between four artists, Absolute covers most of what comes through the door. Custom work is drawn from scratch at no additional cost, and the flash library is one of the largest in the Midwest if you would rather choose something ready made.
Not sure which style you want
Most people arrive with a subject rather than a style. They know they want a wolf, or their grandmother's handwriting, or something to cover an old piece. Style is the artist's job to recommend, and the right recommendation depends on three things you can think about beforehand.
How big, and where
Placement drives more decisions than anything else. Fine detail does not survive on fingers, hands or feet. Large flowing compositions want a limb or a back, not an isolated patch. Areas that get daily sun will fade faster whatever style you choose.
How you want it to read
Do you want the piece legible from across a room, or examined closely. Bold styles such as traditional and new school carry at a distance. Realism and fine black and grey reward close viewing.
How long you want it to hold
Every tattoo changes. Heavy outlines and open negative space age slowest. Fine hairlines and subtle gradients age fastest. Neither answer is wrong, but you should choose knowing the trade rather than discovering it in ten years.
