Calling ahead is worth it
Walk-ins are part of how a working shop runs, and plenty of people are tattooed the same day they arrive. Calling first still saves you a trip in three situations.
- You want a particular artist. Not everyone is in every day.
- The piece is large or complicated. Big work needs a consultation and drawing time before any needle time gets booked.
- You are coming on a busy evening or weekend. A quick call tells you how the day looks.
What to bring
- Photo identification. Required every time, for tattooing and piercing, regardless of your age.
- Reference images. Several, showing the style and mood you like, not one screenshot to be copied.
- A real meal beforehand. Eating an hour or two before a session makes a large difference to how you feel in the chair.
- Sensible clothing. Something that gives the artist access to the placement without you sitting awkwardly for hours.
- An honest budget. Nobody here is offended by a number, and it is far easier to design to a budget than to redesign around one.
Things we cannot do
We will not tattoo or pierce anyone under 18, with or without a parent present. We will not tattoo anyone who has been drinking or is otherwise impaired, which is a safety and consent matter rather than a judgement. And we will not copy another artist's custom tattoo, though we are glad to design something original in a similar spirit.
